  • When do I need to provide a No Claims Discount (NCD) Certificate?addremove

    You will need to provide an NCD Certificate when you’re switching to UIC. This may reduce your premium.

  • What is loss of benefit for replacement of vehicle for non-faulty?addremove

    Customer shall be entitled to a loss of benefits(replacement of vehicle) in case of Third party/Recovery/Not at fault claim for maximum 10 days. To claim the amount, customer will be required to provide the following documents:

    1. Job card (date of entry & exit)
    2. Invoice
    3. Rental Agreement copy
    4. Emirates ID
  • What is the difference between comprehensive cover insurance and third party liability cover? addremove

    A comprehensive cover will cover you against your loss or damage as well as third party property damage. Loss or damage could result from an accidental collision, fire, burglary, external explosion, self-ignition, lightning, theft, or any malicious act by a third party. Meanwhile, a third party liability cover refers to basic coverage required by UAE law, that covers death or bodily injury caused to a third party, as well as property damage, by the insured’s vehicle. The policy does not cover damage/loss to the insured vehicle.

  • How can I avail of rent a car benefit in my policy? addremove

    As soon as the claim is registered, Union Insurance will send a request to the rent a car company who will contact you within two hours.

  • Who is considered a Young Driver?addremove

    Anyone below the age of 25 is considered a Young Driver.

  • What is covered in the taxi fare cover?addremove

    If your journey has been interrupted by an accident that has damaged your insured vehicle, the taxi cover includes the cost of a taxi in the UAE to take you onwards to your destination or to return you to your residence. (You may refer to our policy booklet for details.)

  • Can I cancel my policy at any time?addremove

    Yes. You will also be refunded provided no claims are made during the period of insurance. To cancel your policy, you’ll need to submit the following documents:

    1. New insurance certificate
    2. New Mulkiya/car registration card
  • What is excess (deductible)?addremove

    This is the amount that you pay to the insurance company in case of a non-recoverable claim.

  • I only have a third party liability policy. What will this cover?addremove

    Third-party liability cover, which is is mandatory in U.A.E, covers:

    1. The death or bodily injury to any third party/person.
    2. Damages to the property of a third party, caused by your vehicle.

    Please note that this policy does not cover damage or loss to your own vehicle.

  • What is the difference between agency & non-agency repairs?addremove

    Agency repairs coverage means your vehicle will be repaired at its authorised dealership. Non-agency repair means that we will select one of our approved garages for repair. Please note that they adhere to strict quality controls, and this also allows us to offer you a guarantee on garage repair (body, paint & mechanical).

  • I have an old car. Do you provide comprehensive cover for all vehicles, irrespective of age?addremove

    For comprehensive coverage, the maximum age of the vehicle should not be more than 10 years from the first date of registration and vehicle make of year.

  • Do you provide cover for high value cars and sports cars?addremove

    Insurance for high-value cars & sports cars can be arranged on referral basis only.

  • What is motor insurance and why is it important?addremove

    Motor insurance provides financial protection against physical damage and/or bodily injury resulting from traffic collisions and against liability that could also arise therefrom.

  • What documentation is required to insure a car under a company name?addremove

    You will need the following documents to apply for a car insurance under a company name:

    1. Trade License Copy

    Both our standard and superior covers provide you with 24/7 services in case you are stranded within the limits of the UAE. These services include: towing, battery boosting, and car registration.   • Why can't the insurance and registration be in two different names?addremove

    This is a UAE Traffic department (RTA and EVG) law requirement.

  • What is the minimum length of insurance I can purchase? addremove

    As per laws set by the UAE Traffic Department (RTA and EVG), a 13-month insurance period is required to cover the one-month registration grace period.

  • Can I transfer my car insurance policy to a new owner?addremove

    This is not possible because your insurance premium and terms are affected by your personal driving experience.

  • How many policy excesses can I be charged?addremove

    Depending on your vehicle type, specification, and the terms & conditions, you can be charged multiple excesses based on the nature of the incident.

  • Can I upgrade to Comprehensive Insurance if my car currently has Third Party insurance?addremove

    Yes, as long as your vehicle is GCC standard and supported with a Comprehensive Test Certificate, subject to approval.

  • Does my car insurance policy include cover in Oman?addremove

    Yes. Please refer to the policy booklet for details.

  • Can I buy my policy today, but start it at a future date?addremove

    Yes, if you buy it today, you can start it 30 days from now. We recommend that you buy your policy in advance to lock in the price and avoid hassles when it’s time to renew your registration. You cannot renew your registration until your new policy starts.

    When is my car considered a “total loss”?

    When the estimated cost of repairing it is greater than 50% of its insured value.

    Once your claim has been settled, a member of our team will call you to either collect your cheque or arrange a bank transfer. Please note the transfer will only be made to the vehicle’s registered owner.

  • How will I know the renewal date of my car insurance?addremove
